Just like with food recipes, I love playing around with different flavor combinations and making things from scratch for drink recipes. I have a few alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverage recipes on the blog like my Halloween Blood Orange Sangria, Sparkling White Christmas Sangria with Hard Apple Cider, and Sparkling Cranberry Lemonade recipes. Check those out if you haven’t tried them yet.
This ginger-lime spritzer is nonalcoholic, making it perfect for the whole family to enjoy. I posted about it on Instagram yesterday in honor of St. Patrick’s Day and promised to post the recipe today.
The base of the recipe is the simple syrup made from fresh ginger, lime juice, and honey as the sweetener. You can add more or less ginger based on how strong you want the flavor to be.
The simple syrup is the “hardest” part of this ginger-lime spritzer recipe and it takes just like 15 minutes. The recipe made almost 1 cup of simple syrup for me. Make a big batch to keep in the fridge and mix up with seltzer water whenever you want.
The good thing about using real ginger for this ginger-lime spritzer is that unlike with the canned stuff that uses “natural flavors,” you’re actually getting the health benefits of the fresh ginger. This makes it especially perfect for those looking to settle their stomachs due to illness, hangovers, or pregnancy.
